Product

A hydraulic power pack (also called a hydraulic power unit or HPU) is a self-contained system that generates, controls, and transmits hydraulic power to operate machinery.

In simple terms, it converts mechanical or electrical energy into hydraulic energy (pressurized fluid) to do work.

Main components

A typical hydraulic power pack includes:

  • Electric motor or engine – provides the driving force
  • Hydraulic pump – converts mechanical energy into fluid flow
  • Reservoir (tank) – stores hydraulic oil
  • Valves – control pressure, flow, and direction
  • Filters – keep the fluid clean
  • Pressure gauges & controls – monitor and regulate operation

How it works

  1. The motor drives the pump.
  2. The pump draws hydraulic oil from the reservoir.
  3. It pressurizes the oil and sends it through valves.
  4. The pressurized fluid is directed to actuators (like cylinders or motors).
  5. These actuators perform work (lifting, pressing, moving, etc.).

Common applications

Hydraulic power packs are widely used in:

  • Construction equipment (cranes, excavators)
  • Industrial machinery (presses, injection molding machines)
  • Automotive systems (car lifts, jacks)
  • Marine and offshore equipment
  • Agricultural machinery

Key advantage

They provide high power in a compact system, with precise control over force and movement.
